“When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of 'me too!' be sure to cherish them. Because those weirdos are your tribe.”

Alumni Program

We understand that the road to recovery is a long one and when someone graduates from our program it’s not the end of the road — it’s truly just the beginning of a new life. That’s why we offer an active alumni program, designed to offer continued support to our graduates. We offer events, support groups, and networking opportunities designed to help alumni stay engaged in their recovery journey. Our Alumni Program also provides community, ongoing education, and relapse prevention tools to reinforce long-term sobriety. We want to make sure our graduates stay connected with peers, staff, and recovery resources. The goal is to offer ongoing encouragement and accountability as alumni transition back into everyday life.

The Las Cruces Recovery Center Alumni Services is proud to support alumni through comprehensive follow-up services, social media platforms and regular events geared at developing lifelong friendships and connections.

Celebrating Community and Recovery

The Las Cruces Recovery Center Alumni Program has hosted a variety of engaging and fun events that bring our community together and celebrate the journey of recovery. Our “Play at the Park” series has been a hit, featuring activities like basketball, hiking, and kickball, providing a great way for alumni to stay active and connect with one another.

We’ve also enjoyed memorable gatherings such as our Superbowl Watch Party, where alumni cheered on their favorite teams in a stress free environment, and our Movie at the Mall event, offering a relaxing and entertaining night out. Our barbeques have been a wonderful opportunity to share delicious food and good company, fostering a sense of camaraderie and support.

In addition to these events, our monthly speaker meetings have been a cornerstone of inspiration, featuring powerful stories and insights that motivate us all to thrive in our own recovery. These meetings remind us of the strength and resilience within our community and encourage us to continue moving forward on our paths to sobriety.

Meet Christina Christopher: A Beacon of Hope at Las Cruces Recovery Center

Hey y’all! I’m the new Alumni Community Coordinator for Las Cruces Recovery Center.

Fresh out of college, I started as a substance abuse counselor at Ft. Stanton RTC and have since worked with TFC, MST, and MCO populations.

I’m proud to say I’ve been in the behavioral health field for 20 years, and I can’t wait to learn from this new experience and give back to my community.

"Recover Out Loud" Initiative: Breaking the Stigma of Addiction

Our “Recover Out Loud” initiative is a powerful movement within the Las Cruces Recovery Center Alumni Program. This initiative encourages alumni who choose to participate to share their personal journeys of recovery. By openly discussing their experiences, they help us in our mission to break the stigma surrounding addiction.

Through heartfelt stories and honest conversations, “Recover Out Loud” aims to foster understanding and compassion within our community. It highlights the strength and resilience of those in recovery, showing that addiction is a challenge that can be overcome. Together, we are creating a supportive environment where recovery is celebrated and the stigma of addiction is dismantled, one story at a time.
